Biography

Since 1987, Jane Rheinheimer has represented clients throughout California in residential real estate litigation and in the defense of employment litigation.

Jane has represented well over a thousand California Realtors® in litigated and pre-litigated matters involving nondisclosure, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, standard of care, procuring cause, and related matters. She represents principals (buyers and sellers) in these same areas of dispute. Jane also has significant experience representing escrow companies, fund control, property inspection companies and other real-estate related services.

Another significant component of Jane’s practice is the defense of employers in employment-related litigation and pre-litigation including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation/whistle-blower, wage and hour, ADA, class action and PAGA claims. She provides employment counseling, workplace harassment investigations, policies and procedures reviews, and risk management services to large and small employers in a variety of industries.

Jane mediates real estate disputes of all kinds, serving on the mediation panel of the San Diego Association of Realtors® Real Estate Mediation Center and on the panel of West Coast Resolution Group, a division of the National Conflict Resolution Center.

Jane received her JD from the University of San Diego School of Law and her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University. She has been awarded Martindale-Hubbell’s highest possible rating, AV Preeminent, continuously since 1997. She has been named to California Super Lawyers in the area of Employment Litigation since 2013.

Jane was an adjunct professor at the University of San Diego’s School of Nonprofit Management, teaching employment law for nonprofits for over a decade. She previously served as a CASA for a young man in foster care through Voices for Children until her CASA kid aged out of the system, having successfully been admitted to college. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Resounding Joy, a nonprofit entity that provides music therapy services to groups, families and individuals in need so that people who could not otherwise afford to experience the healing power of music are able to do so.

Jane enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, collecting antique English jewelry, and spending as much time as possible with her children and grandchildren.
