John practices in the areas of real estate
law and transactions, business law, contracts, and general civil
litigation. He is a licensed California Real Estate Broker, with
experience in residential, commercial, and mortgage transactions.
John is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at Thomas Jefferson School
of Law in San Diego, teaching Real Estate Transactions and Secured
Land Transactions. Prior to joining the firm, John was lead counsel
at the Law Offices of Mark Steven Kessler in Escondido. John
joined the firm upon Mr. Kessler's retirement in 2007.
He established the firm’s satellite office in downtown
Escondido to serve their North County clients.
John is a member of the State Bar of
California, San Diego County Bar Association, North County Bar
Association, and American Bar Association. He is admitted to
practice before all State Courts in California, as well as the
United States District Court for the Southern District of California.
He attended Thomas Jefferson School of Law, where he was a State
Bar Certified Law Student and Clinical Education Intern, named
to the Honor Roll and National Dean's List five times,
received the Witkin Award for highest grade in Secured Land Transactions,
and received his Juris Doctorate cum laude in 2005.
As a native Southern Californian, John enjoys the outdoor activities
that our region has to offer. He is married and has one son. His
background prior to becoming an attorney includes over twenty years
of experience in the fields of real estate, automotive, small business,
and ministry. His tenacity, creativity, and congenial demeanor
have earned him a track record of avoiding litigation or resolving
many cases before trial.
