Michael A. Kaplan is Of Counsel to Goode, Hemme, & Peterson. After more than 25 years practicing law in San Diego County, Mr. Kaplan still finds his work stimulating, especially when he can assist individuals wronged by the "system."

Originally born on the East Coast, Mr. Kaplan moved to San Diego after a tour of duty in Viet Nam. During his military service, Mr. Kaplan was awarded two Bronze Stars for his leadership of ground forces in combat as an Army captain. In Viet Nam, Mr. Kaplan showed a knack for strategy and coolness under fire which he now turns to use for his clients in “litigatorial” combat.

Mr. Kaplan graduated from the Albany Law School of Union University in 1968. He is an Arbitrator for the San Diego Superior Court, and his memberships include the following: San Diego County Bar Association, Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, Consumer Attorneys of California, Golden Triangle Chamber of Commerce, Greater Del Mar Chamber of Commerce, and University City Racquet Club Board of Directors.

In his spare time, Mr. Kaplan is an avid tennis player, and plays drums with different rock and jazz bands.
